Recruitment scams
This is an important notice to the public in view of recently observed increase in fraudulent communication made to members of the public, by persons and groups falsely claiming to be acting on behalf of, or pretending to be employees of any of the Shell Companies in Tanzania.
These persons and groups lure unsuspecting members of the public into parting with money by making fake offers of employment from our companies. They use forged versions of our brand materials, non-Shell email accounts and domain names to advertise fictitious vacancies and ask their victims to pay money for "employment". In some cases, they do so using the names of known Shell employees.
We wish to notify the public that, Shell Companies in Tanzania do not request monetary payments from applicants at any stage of the recruitment. Individuals who are interested in opportunities in Shell will find open positions listed in the company website when available. Shell does not make use of employment forms, nor process CVs that have not been submitted directly through our websites (www.shell.com/careers).
All successful applicants receive an offer of employment from Shell through a formal and transparent recruitment process, and also get an email from an address that ends with shell.com.
Members of the public are hereby notified that any communication offering interviews or immediate employment and request payment at any point is fraudulent. Anyone who receives these false solicitations is strongly advised to either disregard them in their own best of interest, or report to a law enforcement agency.
Shell will not accept liability in any manner whatsoever for any situation arising from any engagement with these unauthorized persons or groups.
